Rules & Regulations
To ensure smooth functioning and optimal use of the library resources, all users are expected to follow the rules and regulations outlined below:
General Rules
- Silence must be strictly maintained in the library premises.
- Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited inside the library.
- Identity cards must be presented to enter and borrow books.
- Bags, personal books, and belongings must be left outside or in designated areas.
- Students must enter their details in the entry register/log system on arrival.
- The library is a no eating/no littering zone; maintain cleanliness at all times.
- Respect library property; any damage will result in penalties or replacement charges.
Circulation Rules (Issue and Return)
- Books will be issued for a period of 7 to 14 days, depending on the category of the user.
- A fine of ₹1 per day per book will be charged for late returns.
- Reference books, journals, and periodicals are not to be issued and can only be used within the library.
- Loss or damage to a book must be reported immediately. The borrower must replace the book or pay the cost as per library policy.
- A maximum of 2–3 books may be issued at a time, depending on the student category (UG/PG).
Digital and E-Resource Access
- Use of library computers is strictly for academic and research purposes.
- Students should not install software, alter settings, or access social media on library systems.
- Access to online journals, e-books, and databases must be done responsibly and ethically.
Conduct and Compliance
- Misbehaviour, misuse of resources, or violation of rules may result in suspension of library privileges.
- All students must return borrowed books and clear dues before examinations or obtaining Transfer Certificates (TC).
- The Library Advisory Committee reserves the right to amend rules as and when required.
